Chateau Constantin in Provence, recently purchased by Chase Distillery owner William and his wife Kate, is located just minutes from the quaint picturesque village of Lourmarin, and is best described in Peter Mayle’s ‘A Year In Provence’. The winemaking starts in the vineyards, which extend over almost 20Ha, and are covered in beautiful ‘vieille vignes’, or ‘old vines’. Planted during the 1960′s, the domaine produces exquisite wines from unique terroirs and an exceptional climate. From gravel based river plains to the icy ‘mistral’ wind; each part of the Provence process culminates in the production of fantastic wine.
Subtle and complex on the nose with attractive notes of white stone fruit, herbs, cream and mineral, the palate is light, dry and crisp with attractive balance, superb depth and persistent length.
