Product Description
Cune is the brand name of the Compania Vinicola del Norte de Espana, one of Rioja’s most important wineries. An acknowledged leader in the production of top-quality, traditionally styled Rioja wines, Cune has over 100 years of history in the region. It owns over 1300 acres of vineyards in the three sub-districts of Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa, and Rioja Baja. Cune makes a broad range of wines in different styles. They can be divided into three general groups; The Cune basic line, the Vina Real line, and the Imperial line. During its thirty years dedicated to producing wines, and even from its first vintage, harvested in 1974, Viñedos del Contino has been increasingly recognized as the result of a well suited and carefully crafted combination of vineyards, climate, soil and technique. This combination of elements endows our wines with a rich and unmistakable personality.
Still fairly young, intensely coloured, garnet with purple and violet shades. Persistent and intense aromas with cedar, spices and toasty hints over a fresh background of blackberries and plums. Fresh and fruity to the palate with an aftertaste where violets and red fruits stand out, well balanced, elegant and with firm tannins.
