Product Description
Miguel Torres Chile was founded in 1979 by the Torres family. The family had produced wines in Spain for more than 140 years and already owned vineyards for more than 300 years. Miguel A. Torres decided to begin the Chilean project on the advice of Alejandro Parot, a Chilean friend and classmate from his studies in Dijon (France). After the search for a destination in America for the development of viniculture, the firm acquired a vineyard close to the Andes mountain range and a small cellar near Curicó (city located 200 kms. South of Santiago). The family brought innovations to the local wine making traditions by introducing stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Today, Miguel Torres Chile is also committed to organic vine growing and achieving Fair Trade certification for various wines. As a result, the winery is more sustainable and also runs several other sustainable projects. Throughout Chile, our wineries have forged an identity and created unique products according to their climate, providing Miguel Torres Chile with varieties with the typical vinestocks and flavors of this country.
Minty, herbal berry aromas are boosted by a lot of oak, resulting in chocolaty scents of mocha and coffee. Vibrant acidity creates a saucy, vegetal mouthfeel, with notes of herbal blackberry and dark plum. More oak is found on a dry, tannic finish.
