Poggio Ridente – “the smiling hill” is the name of a wine farm, with Barbera, Albarossa- and Bonarda grapes thrive and which we devote all our time and attention. We are on the summit, 491 meters above sea level, and because of its climatic conditions, it is called “Riviera del Monferrato”. Poggio Ridente has a whole 20 hectares, of which 9 hectares of vineyards are surrounded by woods and hedges, all more than 450 meters above sea level. The fascinating challenge we face today is our endeavor to convert it to a biodynamic winery. In my discussions with Luigi, our agronomists, we talked about how our family and our company can influence the vineyard and the winery. I look at my father, who has always kept old traditions alive, and I am convinced that the future of that part of the past will exercise that has become so innovative today. Thus, the use of traditional methods, which are very similar to the biodynamic an opportunity for this small company to offer an alternative to the larger wine producers, and allows us to create impressive organic wines, which is the direct expression of the earth from which they emerge.
A lively ruby red color with orange reflections, a delicate aromatic scent of roses, shrub strawberries and apricots. These flavors are also noticeable on the palate. Medium bodied, very pleasant and harmonious on the finish.
