In 1816, the Velasco family was involved and the distillation of alcohol in the town of Viana, Navarra. In 1956, Ambrosio Velasco marketed the first brand pacharán: Pacharán Souk. Pacharán Souk holds the special designation of “Pacharán Navarro”, which is meeting all requirements of the Control Board: quality and quantity of raw materials, production method and conduct of the whole process in Navarra. The seal of the Control Board and the numbered label on each container of Pacharán Souk are the guarantee of a traditional product and quality control. Clear, coppery amber with bronze highlights. The bouquet shows stewed prunes, aniseed and cold breakfast tea. The palate is lightly syrupy and honeyed with sloe berries, ripe cherry and stewed prunes with anise freshness. Ripe plums and aniseed with cracked black pepper and hints of chocolate on the finish.
